Malcolm Ellis – Director and Co-Producer
Malcolm has decades of theatre experience – acting, directing and producing since he moved to the Cayman Islands from Toronto, Canada 25 years ago. He has been involved in many productions including Caytube, The 39 Steps, The Compleat Works of William Shakespeare, The Complete History of America, Dancing at Lughnasa, Moon over Buffalo, and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. More recently, he was Co-Producer and Director of the award-winning feature film, Tripping Through, award-winning 48 Hour Film Project Entry, The Gift, and short film, Sacrifice.
Michelle Morgan – Writer, Co-Producer and “Marlie”
Michelle studied acting in her hometown of Vancouver, Canada and has been seen more recently on the stage in her current home of the Cayman Islands. Some of her favourite productions include Caytube (for which she was lead writer), The 39 Steps, and The House of Bernarda Alba. Michelle played Karly in the award-dining romantic comedy feature Tripping Through which she also wrote and co-produced. She also wrote, co-produced and acted in the short film, Sacrifice and acted in the award-winning 48 Hour Film Project Entry, The Gift.
Gavin McDougall – “Phil”
Gavin trained at Bretton Hall College, Leeds University. After working at the National Media Museum for the in-house theatre company he went on to work for touring companies in a range of newly commissioned works. He particularly enjoyed the challenges of physical theatre and mask work with Open Hand Theatre and Pilot Theatre Company. Gavin worked in production for Independent TV and the BBC and as Stage Manager for “How We Used To Live” for Yorkshire Television. Eventually, he returned to touring theatre productions and began directing for small scale theatre productions. He enjoyed working with Justine Power Williamson in the BBC Radio 4 Drama 4 Drama “Whose Sari Now” and more recently in the Cayman Islands as lead in the short film, Sacrifice. Gavin is very happy to get another opportunity to work with Michelle and Malcolm on “Letting Go.”
Taylor Burrowes – “Amy”
Taylor began film acting and modeling at 12 years old when she relocated from Cayman to Miami, FL to pursue a film career. Although her career took a protracted turn towards her academic studies in mental health, she has returned home to the big and small screens in Cayman. Taylor has appeared in the following short films. First was Man (2015) directed by Pascal Pernix, then Reset (2016 ), Hotel (2016 ), Reunion (2017), and Immersion (2017) each directed by Trevor Murphy. Since returning to Cayman, Taylor has also landed a few local commercials, and has produced and starred in her own TV talk show, podcast, and you can now catch her anchoring the evening news on Cayman27.
